Half Square Triangle Papers for Free

If you are doing a quilt that has lots of identical  half square triangles you may be tempted to buy Half Square Triangle papers, sometimes called triangles on a roll, to help with the mammoth task.

These are papers which allow you to sew multiples which are an exact size and do not then need to be squared.  In the credit crunch times in which we live I for one am cutting back on what I spend and so do not usually use this kind of thing- I would rather spend my money on fabric! Thankfully the people over at Generations Quilt Patterns have taken some of the strain and included some free HST papers to download.

They have included free downloads for 1 inch, 1 and a half inch, and 2 inch finished units.

Click here to access them and then fire up the printer!

And for some inspiration here are some quilt layouts from YouTubers that are just HST's, although they did not necessarily use HST paper to make their HST's....

Here are 10 layouts from Melanie Ham

Jennie Doan over at Missouri Star made this beautiful quilt

Hailey Stitches has 20 layouts to show you in this video

Kate at The Last Homely House made a pinwheel layout for Project Linus

Sew Easy with Sandy has 10 beginner patterns this video (and another 10 in part 2)

April uses 64 HST's to make a block and incidentally has links in the show notes to other guides on HST's

and we have also linked to the free download for this entire Big Artisan Diamond

There are many many many more but they deserve their own page so stand by for that to be linked here in the future
