This is another example of a simple four patch block which is then surrounded by a border. It is actually based upon a 6x6 grid which means it fits in with both the 2x2 and the 3x3 families of blocks.
This one uses the 8 point diamond star in the centre and then has the frame on an angle rather than straight to give a trellis secondary pattern.
