An archived project from Henry Glass Fabrics
This uses large/medium scale prints in two framed blocks that alternate across the quilt. No sashing or cornerstones to add before the borders. Easy to adapt to your own fabric choice.

From Henry Glass Fabrics- this archived project makes a star 72x72".
The star points come from Log Cabin blocks rather than HST's and the centre is a Square in a Square. Use more subtle fabrics to make the star pop more.
Another one from Henry Glass Fabrics.
This time one large panel is bordered with squares on point. If you had a similar size pattern the inner border allows the size to be adjusted slightly so you could use this idea...
Another one from Henry Glass Fabrics.
A flower block based upon a 3x3 grid and set edge to edge. The trick is to match the seams of the corner units and side units within each block hence it is intermediate difficulty.
This is another idea for small panels/focus fabrics from Henry Glass Fabrics
Here is something that looks reminiscent of the Economy block but is really just quarter square triangles alternated with whole squares, rectangles and smaller squares form an inner border to complete the illusion.

Framed focus fabrics with the largest prints alternate with smaller print focus fabrics in the centre of sawtooth stars.
Things to note that you can adapt to your own quilt when you "too many" fabrics

This is a classic block based upon a 4x4 grid. It can be made either entirely with Half Square Triangles or with a mixture of Flying Geese and Half Square Triangles.

From Henry Glass Fabrics come another archived project that uses panels and border fabrics in an interesting way.
This time there is a large panel in the centre and fabric with a border stripe used for (surprise surprise) the borders BUT the most interesting thing is the two sizes of the same pieced block - one used for the inner border, the other used for the outer cornerstones, reversal of the colourway means they are similar in look but not the same.
Another archived quilt by Henry Glass Fabrics
Start with a large panel. Add some strip borders that are mitred - then a pieced border using pinwheels and square on point, then some more mitred borders for good measure.
Adapt for your own panels or fabric too pretty to cut!

The quilt is unusual in that it uses two blocks - one based upon a 3x3 grid the other on a 4x4 grid - and instead of making the blocks the same size 1 1/4" coping strips are used on the 4x4 blocks to make them the same size as the 3x3 blocks so there is no need for sashing. Four fabric strips then make up the border.

Lots of square sewn together for the fruit - very tempting to strip sew this one instead! The finished project is 57x70". The leaf border is cute and could be used elsewhere as well....
